I finished that card game job I was talking about and currently the kickstarter is being created. Things are going slower than they anticipated. 

I figured I'd include some process images from a male Villager I made for it.  It starts with a discussion on what kind of character the client would like created. Male? Female? Good? Bad? Love struck? After some quick sketches we finalize a concept. Then it's time for color!

My coloring process includes masking out each element ans individually painting them up. Then I merge all the layers into one and move the "paint" so it all blends together better.

So I got a free lance job last month doing the artwork for a new card game that is coming out, These are the first of a full deck! There will be a kickstarter up mid summer 2012 so keep an eye out and support us!

A forest background...

I am very unhappy with this I just am not sure what to do... I think I need to step away and come back to it later. That being said, here are two versions of another back ground that I am working on.

and here it is with out the tree in the fore ground... it works a bit better.

Lizard guy...

This is a lizard guy that started in my sketchbook and eventually became the star of my storyboarding final. I'll post the video later, for now here is that first drawing...

From the drawing board to the storyboard...

So I also took a storyboarding class last semester. Here is a storyboard I did with Walter and Steve. The last two pages are not in color because I didn't have enough time. We also had to do a turn around.

Walter and Steve

These are my two favorite characters. I plan on using them quite a bit in future animations.

This is the orginial concept for Walter and Steve. Steve is the fox and Walter is the sheep guy.

 

Steve is the spastic weirdo while Walter is the why inquisite guy... they compliment eachother perfectly.



Sometimes you have to do what you don't like.

I'm not fond of this... I think that I suck at charactertures. But I suppose practice makes perfect... right? Here are some that I did of Luke, Leah and Han.
